Hailing from the vibrant suburbs of Detroit, music has always been more than a passion—it’s in his blood. Mekka’s musical foundation was laid through years of playing trumpet, saxophone, and drums, guided by a finely tuned ear and a deep appreciation for rhythm. His father, a celebrated jazz musician and founder of a Detroit-based jazz ensemble that's still lighting up local clubs after three decades, inspired Mekka's lifelong love affair with sound.
